Hi (Furry)furriends💗
Do you know what day it is
Peachy…
…yeah…
…it’s Monday…
and did you know
that it is a special day
for all of our American furriends…
as it is
…Memorial Day…
so for this special occassion…
she put in a few pictures
of the only American Cemetry
in our Country…
…close to where we live…
…click on the picture to find out more about
this impurressive place…
it’s heartbreaking to see so many names
of the fallen soldiers
on the wall
…who are still missing…
and when Granny and Grandpaw
walked past the countless graves
they thanked them all for their service…✨
Granny told us that she had been on that place before
when she was on a school trip…
…back in 1974…
…exactly 50 years ago…
…see…
she still has a picture of it…
…it made me quiet Peachy…
…better we play some mewsic now
and listen
while we remember…
Goodnight Saigon – Billy Joel (1982)
War what is it good for – Edwin Starr (1970)
Heroes – David Bowie (1977)
Give Peace a chance – John Lennon (1969)

That’s Freedom – John Farnham (1990)

For as long as the moon shall rise,
For as long as the rivers shall flow,
For as long as the sun shall shine,
For as long as the grass shall grow,
Let us know Peace.”

Memorial Day is a time to reflect on what it took or takes to preserve our freedom. So many gave their lives restoring or protecting what we cherish dearly. I liked seeing the photo of the Memorial wall in your part of the world and I enjoyed your music today! xo

Beautiful. Long May We Remember.

This was an awesome playlist. I am humbled by the various American cemeteries in Europe and how Europeans honor the Allies to this day. One of my cousins married a man then in the U.S. Air Force, who was born in France to an American soldier. They have visited the Normandy cemetery and I believe some others in France. Now, I wish we could give peace a chance, even as the storm clouds of war gather. If only…Alana ramblinwitham

What a beautiful place this is! May their memories be blessed and a blessing to us all, those who did not come back from war are the truest heroes.

Yep Peachy and Stippie Margraten used to contain 23,000 American soldiers…
https://mariettesbacktobasics.blogspot.com/2013/05/margraten-netherlands-american-cemetery.html
We, Dutch by birth, are forever grateful that our country got liberated by the help of the allied forces.
May war like that never ever happen and indeed, may Peace prevail!
Hugs,

A sweet and thoughtful post. I went to Groesbeek in 1975, but that was mostly Canadian soldiers there.

I didn’t know about the American cemetery at Margraten so visited via your link and found it very interesting.
You have chosen lovely music for this post.
