Granny
I know it’s time for another story…
but I have to wash off
Christmas…
to be prepurred
for the New Year…
…whatever it means…
but first let’s dive right into
Christmas Eve…
when the family arrived…
with lots of bags
filled with goodies…
and I had to check them all…
in the meantime Peachy was checking
if there was enough space
under the Christmastree…
…and there was…
so I put effurry purrezzie
in front of the Christmas tree…
and made sure…
that they didn’t blocked my
‘under the Christmas tree time’
…with my prey…
when we were ready
it was time for dinner…
for them…
and
for us…
but Granny forgot
to put the napkins of Peachy…
and me…
to make the table more festive
for the occassion🎄
*whispurrs*
she’s such a sieve head
…that’s how we call it in our Country…
…anyways…
when Grandpaw did the dishes
he forgot to cover the roulade in foil papurr
so I could drink a little (to much)
of the gravy…
I have to tell that it was delicious…
it was only gravy of the beef
so we only had to wait
until it came out again
the next morning…MOL…
and then it was time for
Santa’s helper…
…to distribute the purrezzies…
these were two of the purrezzies
for Granny…
…that made her tear up a little…
and Santa brought her two
Christmas mugs…
and a Lucky charm…
they all had a great Christmas Eve
and when they all left the building…
they forgot our twofeet Auntie…
who always wants to stay😹
we don’t really mind…
she always gives us scritches
and she likes to pet us…
I found that out
immediately…
so I only had to divide my love
between the three of them…
which wasn’t really a purroblem…
…at least not for me…MOL…
and today…
we’re awaiting the
New Year…
while looking at all the cards
that we’ve gotten
by snail and by email
🐌💌
there’s only one thing to do…
we have to fill in
our fill ins for our furriends…
…okay…
let me begin…
1. The best part of 2025 was that Granny and Grandpaw adopted me,
one day before I was two month old.
See how tiny I was…and cute❤️
2. My focus word for 2026 is letting go of everything I still hold on to. I need to make space in the closets because I lost overview of what I still have, and what I don’t need anymore. Also my inside world needs a cleaning. After Stippie’s passing I struggled to organize my thoughts and it’s shown all around me🙈
3. I always need some extra sleep in the days after Christmas. First because it was too crowdy and second, because I don’t have anything better to do because it’s to cold outside🐱
4. I’ve had enough sorrow to last a lifetime. It was a tough year, not only for losing Stippie, but also for losing a lot of our furry furriends this year on the blog…

and now that we close another year
we’re ready for new beginnings…

I love your focus word for 2026!! I need to do much of the same “letting go.” I did drastically reduce my possessions when we downsized and moved in September. And then (like you) there was the sorrow of losing my beloved Mr. Chester the week after we moved. Sudden and unexpected like your Stippie. The older I get the more I also want to do more internal “downsizing.” Too many toxic thoughts/events/people/emotions from the past I continue to make room for internally. They need to go!! Please keep us updated on your internal and external “letting go.” It’s not easy!! 😵💫 But much needed. 🐾🐈⬛🐾

With Christmas behind us, it’s now a brand new year. I sure hope 2026 is kinder to you, me, everyone. We’ve all seen loss and struggled with things in our lives. It looks like a beautiful Christmas for everyone, even while you miss those who are gone.
I understand about disorganized thoughts, mine are scattered and so is the house. Something to think about and work on this year, if I can get enough time off work.

You’re so right, it was a hard year with loses for so many. We still think of all the fur angels-they remain in our hearts.

Oh dear friends it looks like you had a FABULOUS Christmas with family and gifts and good food and fun…..that’s PURRFECT! We love Granny’s gifts – and we’re sure you furry kids got some fun stuff too because Santa Paws knows how very good you were. We hope that the new year brings cleared out closets, happy days and nights, lots of love and some fun too! One thing we know you already have from US is our forever friendship. Our one BIG New Years’ Hope is the world finds PEACE.
