Today we participate again
in my furriend Bacon’s
Show and tell
to share a funny hilarious moment
in our life…
You better take a seat,
while I’m telling you
the story…
Granny and Grandpaw
went to Brussels
a few years ago…
to do some sightseeing…
just for one day…
and after a little while…
they both got a little hungry…
got a sweet tooth
for some coffee
and found this restaurant
where they served pancakes.
Granny saw this special pancake named
Gateau au pomme…
lying on the counter.
Their French isn’t what it was
in the Seventies…
but they remembered that
pomme means apple…
and gateau cake…
So they ordered
a kind of
this delicious cake.
The waitress served the coffee…
and then they waited…
…and waited…
and finally after half an hour…
Voila: le gateau pomme â été servi…
They both took a bite of it
at the same time…
looked at each other
with the bite still in their mouth,
not daring to move anything…
and started to laugh…
and laugh…
they just couldn’t stop….
The pancake was filled with
extremely hot applesauce…
that’s why it took so long….
and they almost burned their mouth
on it….
at the same time….
but neither Grandpaw nor Granny
spit it out,
because you don’t do that…
well….I would…. 😉
