Thankful Thursday Special

Hi (Furry)furriends ❤

Today

is a very special day…

…and I want to

draw awareness

on this heartfelt event…

…too…

by telling you a true story…

about an elderly catlady…

that made herself at home

at a shelter….

because she had

no home…

anywhere else…

…she could walk

in and out…

…freely…

and always came back

to hang around

the volunteers…

…and take a nap…

…she felt at home there…

and lived there for more than

10 years…

…already…

…but…

two years ago…

they closed the shelter…

because the government

didn’t want to

pay for a

renovation on the shelter…

…so that meant….

that the Lady Cat

and all the other animals

that lived there…

had to be moved

to another shelter…

which was possible…

except for the old Lady Cat…

because she didn’t lived there…

…officially…

…they only gave her

two options…

1. to kill or

2. not to kill!

…and they gave her time

until the shelter

would close…

but no-one came for her…

no-one wanted her…

because she was to old…

and Granny and I

were purraying

that there would be

someone out there

to let her in…

because we couldn’t…

…it’s because of me…

and on the last day…

one of the volunteers said…

“I’ll take her home with me…”

because she felt so sorry for

the Lady Cat…

That was a relief…

we were so

T H A N K F U L

that the Lady Cat

found her furrever home…

…after all…

and it makes me realize…

how lucky I am…

to have a furrever home…

with Granny and Grandpaw…

who adopted me too…

…in a way…

…so I’m

T H A N K F U L

for that too…

…and what I have

I wish for everybody else too…

…everyone deserves

a home…

a bed to sleep in…

…on…under…next to…

…whatever…

drink…eat…treats…

and a loving (furr)family…

there are a lot of animals…

that are waiting

for a furrever home…

…we support the vision

of a no-kill-polici…

…but there are still

shelters who are not…

…so how about

to open your heart

and make someone

HAPPY

and

T H A N K F U L

…who is waiting a long time

just for

someone like…

…YOU…

…and enjoy what you

can give each other…

E  D E S E R V E  T !

(thanks Brian 😉

I could not stand by and watch a cat be killed. I would take them home. We did, in fact, with Dusty, who we loved for nearly two years before he passed away.

Like you are are thankful for what we have, every day.

I’m glad that the lady cat found a home. All kitties need a good home. I’ve been volunteering at a no kill shelter for a few years now and a lot of the cats and dogs are adopted from kill shelters and placed in this animal friendly shelter. The animals are cared for forever by the friendly volunteers and staff there.

You know Binky, everyone around here gets there best friends from a shelter. I don’t even know if there are breeders in this town. I guess there are but we wouldn’t know. We are for shelters period! We only have one shelter in this town that I am aware of. We agree with you that every pet deserves a furever home.

That is great, Shoko and Kali! We find the most breeders on the internet, selling kitties and doggies from mills.. really pawful… 😦 We’re glad that we have a lot of purrivate shelters in the envrionment, to make sure that they maintain the policy of a no kill shelter 🙂 Pawkisses for a Happy Weekend to the both of you 🙂 ❤

She was very lucky, Draliman. We found it unbelievable that the new shelter didn’t allowed her to live there. They didn’t think in solutions, but would have chosen the easiest way *shakes head*…it’s inhumanly… Extra Pawkisses for you 🙂 ❤

We’ve missed your beautiful face Binky – and your Granny’s gorgeous photography. I’m glad there was a happy ending for you and Lady Cat. It’s sad that not every story ends that way.

VIP—very important post. I pray that every cat will someday have a home. I was born on the street and spent hard time in 2 shelters. My heart goes out to any cat that has to spend their entire life there. You’re so like me that I’ll never let TW have another cat.

Thank you Binky! I came from a shelter too and I am so happy! I have a tunnel to run through, nip toys, a whirly gig butterfly toy that my mommy turns on for me. I have many windows to look out to watch the birdies and squirrels that my human sister in law feeds and I even have an old dog to torment! I hope every kitty and doggy and other animals can find as good of a furever home as I got. All I did is talk to my new mommy at the shelter and she knew I was the one. Sigh… I am so happy 🙂

I haven’t found the time learn to set it up yet, alas! Mommy just had surgery on her arm so is not up to much except playing with me lately. I love this community and will let all you kitties know when i learn to do things on it. I’m not even sure how to set up a header. I guess I gotta check out some you-tube learning sires. Any recommendations?

When you are on the Dashboard, you click on Appearance and then you see a submenu which says Header among others…and then it opens your Theme where you can change everything the way you want to. When I don’t know anything I look for the support site of WordPress. They explain everything 😀 But take it easy, because your mom has to recover first, that’s more impawtant than a stoopid Header 😉 Healing Pawkisses are on the way ❤ ❤ ❤

These wastes of air, water and rations that make decisions to close shelters, and then gleefully apply the letter of the law regarding a ‘non-official’ resident, need to be thrown out on the street and see how THEY like it!

So glad that lady took the older cat home. That is something to be very thankful for, for sure. The word needs to get out about the shelters and the deal about spaying and neutering all the pets.
