I’m grounded
but I really don’t know why…
Stippie and I were just hanging out
in the arbor…
like we almost do effurry day…
we were sniffing around a little
and enjoyed all the different kind of smells
that went around in the neighbourhood
because it was almost dinnertime for them…
we had already eaten
so we could let our food digest
comfortably…
but we were distracted by some butterflies…
because the sun was shining
so it was hot enough
for them to fly around
in the early evening…
at first I didn’t want to get after them…
because of my full tummy…
but who can resist a butterfly
when they fly by…
not me…
so I went into the direction
of Angel’s Place…
to get a closer look…
but when it saw me…
he fluttered over the fence…
and I was a little astonished
that it didn’t came back
like they usual do…
but then I saw it again
and my motivations to catch play with him
became so big…
that I jumped straight over the fence…
…like a horse jumping over a hurdle …
and ended up on the other side of the fence…
just like in the dream Granny had the next day
after Stippie’s adventure in May…
see…
it had nothing to do with an outbreak…
I was just playing around…
…and jumped a little to high…
…above my own expectations…
I knew you and Stippie were searching for me…
the whole evening…
and night…
and that Stippie had to keep watch
inside the house…
in case I would come back
when you and Grandpaw
went searching for me
in the neighbourhood…
*Stippie:*
I knew where you were
and I showed it to Granny…
but as your were on the other side of the fence
you didn’t know how to come back…
and you were to scared to move…
because of the neighbours and the doggies…
so you didn’t came out of your hiding spot…
Granny was very very anxious and scared
that you couldn’t
or wouldn’t come back…
although she knew that you would…
but her mind took over from her feelings
and she saw her beloved Angel Muschy…
who once run away and
when she found her way back after two weeks
she was poisened
and died shortly after her adventure…
then she thought about Gismo
who run away when he was
two and a half years old…
and never came back…
she searched 20 years for him…
until the day they moved to this house
at the other side of our Country
in 2015…
in the middle of the night
she registered you at
AMIVEDI
a Dutch searching organisation…
…as she did for Gismo in 1995…
and went outside a lot of times to call for you…
she was up all night…
and she was really broken…
most from all the worse kind of scenarios
in her mind…
but also because she was so tired…
not knowing that you heard her calling
and that you tried to escape from that
situation you brought yourself in to…
and then the miracle happened…
after disappearing for 10 hours
…10 hours of living in uncertainty…
we saw you running in the garden
and jumping against the window…
we were so happy to see you finally
at 04:30⏰…
healthy and in tact
but a little much confused…
…and very tired…
Granny had a lot of happy tears
running from her eyes…
she was so relieved from this
nightmare at home street…
I’m so sorry Granny
I purromise
I never do it again…
but as I told you earlier
that Butterfly brought out a horse in me…🐴
and I also must have been affected by the almost
Full Blue Moon…
that shone in the sky the same evening…
so can you please give me my freedom back…
I’m to tired to get outside
anyway…
We all were, Peachy…
it is just now
that we are all ready
to get into our rountine again…
and that means to tell our furriends
where we are all very
T H A N K F U L
for
first that you found your way back home
of course…✨
all the neighbours who looked out for you
in their garden and on the streets…
they were very helpful
and compassionate…💗
just like the
where we could register you as missing
in the middle of the night
so they could put you on the Internet asap…😻
and for the Internet…💻
because it works much quicker
to spread the news
than it did in 1995…
when Granny had to do it all by phone-home-telephone
typewriter and newspapurr…
to spread the word…☎

and talking about that…
we also created a poem for our furriends

“We were on our honeymoon
when the car broke down
to soon
I tried to get it fix
so I put it in the mix
while you were sitting down
on the dirty ground
hoping that no-one would see
that it was me who had to be
repair the car out there
it’s not that I complain
it just that I have purromised
that I do effurrything for him
and without a doubt
I love him more
than I shout out loud.”

OMGoodness, P. That supermoon’s gravity must have helped pull you up and over the fence for your naughty getaway. Mom wants to cry for the fear and sadness Granny felt all those hours. Thank goodness for this happy ending. Please keep your paws on the ground IF you are ever allowed out of the house again!

I’m grateful for the happy ending! And yes, the internet sometimes helps with the list pets, but sometimes it’s the old-fashioned flyers that have worked for us. We’ve had it both ways!

Peachy, please. Never do that again. That was a real nightmare for your Granny and Grampaw. and Stippie too. I can’t imagine being out at all. Mom has had a bad, bad dream once about me disappearing into our thick woods. Never to be found. I can easily imagine what your parents when through. XXXXXXX

Oh Peachy you gave everybody in your house a fright by disappearing on your butterfly adventure. I’m sure you never thought you’d be separated from going home though and no doubt you were scared. We’re so happy everything worked out and you are back where you belong!! Having adventures is lots of fun but remember – “there’s no place like home so please don’t roam!”. We love all the photos too AND we love the poem you did about the bride and groom and the getaway car that wouldn’t move. Hopefully that sad start to their life together turned into honeymoon magic when the car started again! Love and hugs to ALL of you.
