Hi (Furry)furriends💗

Allthough it was almost
40℃ (104F) in our garden
last week…

we always found the best places
to hang out together…

…in the shades
where it was a little bit cooler…

…still to hot with more than 30℃ though…
but with a little wind
blowing over our tummies

and without moving
we were able
to manage it all…

from here we also could see
all the fairies creatures
that help us in the garden…

like another new born Lady Bug…
who eats a lot of the lice
that were hanging in our Fallopia plant…

so that she can change into a big LadyBug…
…just like her mom…

and there’s our new member of the family garden…
our Leopard Slug…
…there’s a story behind this one…
so sit back
and listen to this…
Granny found him the 14th of July…
and when she saw him
she picked him up
…seperate from the other slugs and snails
that she collects effurry day…
to bring them into the front garden…

but I told her
that she had to leave him in our backyard
because he helps us with the other slugs…
…and even cleans up
the garden…
so she ran to the front garden
but couldn’t find him anymore…
he’s faster than the other slugs
…that’s why he’s called Leopard and not Sluggy…
and when she came back she stepped
accidentally on another one…
who was just a little one…
he was eating on the greens
that came out of the stones…

first she thought that he was still alive…
and picked him up to do a little check on him…
unfortuantely he didn’t survive…
and Granny buried him in Angel’s Place
…while telling him how sorry she was
that she didn’t saw him…

since that day she hasn’t seen another
Leopard Slug
…until two weeks later…

when this one showed up…
and a day later another one…
so now she’s very excited
that they came back to help her too
with the other slugs and snails
in the garden…🧙♀️

and also the one and only Bumble Bee
keeps helping her
pollunate the flowers…

so that they can grow again…

…at least trying a lot…

to get shining again…
after the slugs and snails attacked them…

and now effurrything…

and effurryone
is waiting…

for more…

flowers…

and we have lone rangers too…
and stand-in-the-wayers…

and a lot of spiders…
and we’re happy with them all…

and with another message
that Little Binky left again…

and because we didn’t listen
she sent us another one
…the next day…

she leaves us a lot of messages
lately…
Granny says
because we think of her very much
she wants us to know
that she’s still around…✨

and we got a message of the weather girl…
telling us
that the temperature is dropping
and the rain is coming…
…again…
…see…
…we haven’t said to much huh…
🐞☔Have a wonderful Wednesday my furriends☔🐞

Wow, I’m glad you found some shade, that’s very hot! You have such beautiful flowers in your garden 🙂
Aug 08, 2024 @ 17:03:29
You boys do such a good job helping granny with her beautiful garden. A bumble bee, ladybug and a leopard slug are helpful critters too. How sweet that Angel Binky sent a message. Hugs! 😻
Aug 08, 2024 @ 03:56:50
The garden is so beautiful, Peachy and Stippie. You boys and Granny do such an amazing job with it, and we love that Angel Binky sends you such special messages. XO
Aug 08, 2024 @ 00:57:54
Good work Granny. The flowers are so so lovely we don’t want the snails and bad bugs eat them again. I wonder if we get tiger snails here in New Zealand? Trompie also regularly sends me a feather from heaven. Lots of hugs to you all.
Aug 09, 2024 @ 16:15:28
Google says you have Tiger snails in New Zealand, so just try to find them😹Angel Trompie will be always there, Ineke, so good he sends feathers to let you know✨🐾😽💞
Aug 10, 2024 @ 08:23:05
I’ll keep an eye out for those tiger snails. Climate changed makes it drier here in summer. Not many snail around here at this stage.
Aug 08, 2024 @ 00:52:48
I am glad that Angel Binky sends messages. Beautiful blooms. And I had not heard of a leopard slug before. XO

It has been hot, I’m glad to see you have flowers and more of the good friends who help in the garden. May you have cooler days and plenty of rain (without too much, of course) for the rest of the summer.

Wow – you have really had some awful hot temperatures ! We are glad you are getting a bit cooler, and hope you get needed rain – not too much and not too little. It is always good to hear from Little Binky too – not that she is ever far from our memories.
Aug 07, 2024 @ 20:33:41
I have never seen a leopard slug. We don’t even get the big black or brown ones any more. We get the small ones that demolish everything in their path. I hope you can keep cool.
Aug 07, 2024 @ 20:03:14
We love when Angel B checks in on her family. The leopard is checking in as well. Everyone is doing their job to take care of all of you and the garden.
Love and licks,
Cupcake

You two take such excellent care of Binky’s garden. That must be what she is saying to you. And thanks to the Leopard slug from me as well. He does good work. Lady Bugs too. Mom and I both enjoy seeing the flowers and so glad the Lady bugs are helping so well with the awful aphids. XXOO to you boys.

Little Binky couldn’t leave…
Aug 07, 2024 @ 16:52:10
It’s hot here, but it’s always hot here in the summertime. Love all the critters in your back yard. Adorable.
Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.

Charlee: “Wow, it sure is toasty warm there! Around here, Mama and Dada complain when it gets into the 80s.”Chaplin: “That is a very fascinating slug you’ve got there. We’ve never seen one like that. Ours are all just kinda grey and boring.”Oona: “Never mind the slugs! Oona wants more ladybugs!”
Aug 07, 2024 @ 16:02:31
You sure have some cute critters in your garden and how sweet of Angel Binky to leave another message. Hey, you two are always cool kitties no matter the temperature!
Aug 07, 2024 @ 15:28:54
Oh gosh, your temps are similar to ours but you probably have loads more humidity than we do (our humidity has even lower than usual lately-a few days ago just 9-11% when the average is around 30%). Stay dry and enjoy all the critter helpers in your garden.
Aug 08, 2024 @ 09:22:15
Here the temperature is up and down and humid indeed, that makes it very muggy, Elsa, Wilson and Monika🙈🐾😽💞
Aug 07, 2024 @ 14:42:20
You have some interesting critters and beautiful flowers in your garden. I hope the weather gets cooler though.
Aug 07, 2024 @ 14:30:30
You two could never say too much! Love the slug, and have you tried beer for those others not-so-pretty ones? Stippy takes a GREAT tummy-up nap! What temptation to snuggle…
Aug 08, 2024 @ 08:57:39
MOL…nope…Granny collects them and brings them in the front garden, there come many other species who like to have a real good happy meal😸🐾😽💞
Aug 07, 2024 @ 14:09:39
So sorry to read that you’ve had the hots, fellas, but good to know you’ve found a way to chill.
Mother Nature is happy with your yard; she’s sending all kinds of critters to enjoy it.
Aug 07, 2024 @ 14:01:04
Dearest Peachy and Stippie,
Loved your photos with those tummies up for cooling down.
Well, 40°C would indeed be too hot but no doubt that got measured in the full sun as there is not such day temperature in your region.
Never seen a leopard slug, great photo.
Hugs,
Mariette + Kitties
Aug 08, 2024 @ 08:30:05
No, no, not measured in the full sun, we have a real hot garden, Mariette, like a sauna. It was 32℃ that day outside in our part of the Country. Next week it will even get hotter here, that means, also hotter in our garden🙈🐾😽💞
Aug 08, 2024 @ 09:47:24
😳 STRANGE temperature as it does NOT show on the actual weather.com
Aug 08, 2024 @ 14:00:47
Not today, Mariette, vandaag is het maar 23 graden. Flink afgekoeld, sinds gisteren🤷♀️Granny says never trust the weather channel🙈😸
Aug 08, 2024 @ 16:58:47
Comparing your backyard to a sauna (80°C or 176°F) is a strange concept. I’ve lived in Limburg for 32 years and know it is NEVER such hot and dry temperature with a low humidity. It just takes some understanding of the physics to know better and it certainly has nothing to do with trusting the weather channel.
It is 10:00 AM and my outside thermometer shows 45°C in the sun as it is attached to the bay window, facing east. It can go as high as 60°C (its max) but everyone with common sense knows that that is NOT a true temperature. You even can’t measure any temperature inside your postage stamp garden that is in the shade—under a big tree for instance. We got 2.5 ha with lots of trees and you feel the difference when you walk there or on the open lawn where there is no shade.
Guess it remains typically Dutch for always talking about the weather… Not done here! It also is in the book The Undutchables, written by a British/American couple that lived in The Netherlands.
It is hilarious!
Yes, still available after 34 years and it is in its 9th edition.

Search for obsession with weather…
Leave it to Peachy and Stippie as they are not that ‘rusted’ into Dutch culture 😉
Enjoy the remainder of summer!
Hugs,
Mariette + Kitties

You boys look quite comfortable in your napping spot in the garden keeping an eye on things. I’m glad Granny found a replacement leopard slug if they do such a good job keeping the BAD bugs out of things……The flowers are so pretty and how WONDERFUL that Little Binky makes sure you know how much she loves you all and watches over you all by leaving you feathery messages of love.
Hugs and Pawkisses, Teddy and Mom Pam
