that was shining down on us…
…last week…
when our twofeet Auntie came to visit…
I’m still looking for her…
but wherever I look…
I can’t find her anymore…
maybe she’s hiding somewhere…
between my stuff…
or…even worse…
maybe our twofeet Autie took her home
when she left the building
…yesterday…
we really have to find
that Sturgeon Moon…
that sounds really fishie, Peachy…
maybe we have to smell better…
but even with my best olfactory qualities
…I can’t find her either…
maybe she’s hiding her
shining self…
higher…
I can smell her trace…
but the Moon is nowhere to be seen…
maybe we have to wait
a little while…
until she comes back…
I can make myself comfortable…
until then…
while you keep on searching
Peachy…
and don’t forget to wake me up
when you found the Sturgeon
Moon…

We had to look up when the Sturgeon moon was because Mom had never heard of it. She thought it might be a European name. But when we asked Mr Google, he said that it is the full moon in August and it was named that because the giant lake sturgeon were so plentiful in the Great Lakes and Lake Champlain in August. That is really ironic because we live in Michigan, US, which is in the middle of four of the Great Lakes. So we learned something we should have already known.

Glad you enjoyed visiting with your Auntie but I don’t think you’ll find her in your climbing post…..or on the moon…..but that moon sure will light the way to lots of OTHER things (like treats?!).
