Hi (Furry)furriends⛄🧊

Granny
come quick…

a big birdie has landed
in the big tree outside…

come
you have to see it…

we saw it come flying in…
with his enormously
wide open wings…

look…
he’s trying to take off
again…

…to late Granny…

he already landed

on top of a roof…
…looking for food…

…but he can’t stay there to long…
…it’s to cold…
…below zero in our Country now…
…-3℃ = 26.6F…

…but he’s so hungry…

that he flew down into the streets…
waiting for a fishie bite…
and now he walks along the street
feeling lost and alone..

Granny
can’t we give him some canned fishie…
we don’t mind to share
as long as he has something to eat…

it’s a pity that he won’t let us near him…
he could have had a propurr meal…
but Granny says
that he can find himself some mousies
which he also eats
when he doesn’t have anything else in stock…

what?!
…I think
mousies are a different story…

…of course not…
…we can share effurrything Peachy…
when there’s enough for us
there’s enough for effurryone…

…now let’s analyse what the Heron has to tell us…
and let’s put it in our weekly

mewsic hop…
with this weeks theme
songs about a new start or motivation
for the New Year…
and who can say it better
than the Heron…
Patience – Hollow Coves (2019)
Words of Wisdom – Christopher Cross (1983)
This is Amazing Grace – Phil Wickham (2013)
The Power of Love – Frankie goes to Hollywood (1985)
Trust – The Cure (1992)
The Silence – Manchester Orchestra (2017)
Reflections of my life – The Marmalade (1969)

What great pictures of the heron. Hope he found his way back where he lives. And it was so cold there I can see. Brrrr……
Jan 19, 2025 @ 07:32:57
Goodness, I wouldn’t expect to see a heron there! I hope he found his way back home.
Jan 15, 2025 @ 16:31:17
WHAT A LOVELY Blue Heron and music and good thoughts for the New Year and you darlings are so kind to want to share, Perhsps he has already found a fishie or mousie,.
Jan 15, 2025 @ 03:18:09
Charlee: “Wait, so we have to compete with herons for mice, too? Seems like an unfair advantage when they have those wings and those sharp noses.”
Oona: “But they are not ninjas. Oona is not intimidated at all.”
Jan 15, 2025 @ 00:07:58
We have herons and egrets here, they are beautiful. I’m sure this one will find something to eat soon.
Jan 14, 2025 @ 23:46:42
your pussy cats can truly tell a story. I love the heron and wonder if it is a Great Blue Heron which, as far as I know, endangered. If you see it hanging around, I’d call animal control for wild animals. Love all your songs here but I couldn’t play The Cure. I really like that 2nd last song from 2017. I never heard it before. Great list.
Jan 14, 2025 @ 19:25:21
Very nice pics and great songs.
Jan 14, 2025 @ 15:01:17
That’s a strange place to see a heron. I hope he finds his way back to the pond where he should be.
Jan 14, 2025 @ 14:07:48
Wow! Great captures of the Heron and I hope he finds some food. I love your music choices! Stay warm and safe! Sending cozy hugs! 😽
Jan 14, 2025 @ 08:22:00
Love this.
Jan 14, 2025 @ 06:29:11
Wow, That heron sure got misplaced!!
One of my cousins has a pond in his yard…in Zevenbergen…and he had a hard time keeping it stocked because the herons would come and gobble up the frogs and fish, sheesh!! Yup, they are hungry and hunger makes them hunt in places not their usual habitat.
You two look all googly eyed seeing that huge bird!!
Stay warm!
Its 15F here right now…BRRR! And snowing.
Jan 14, 2025 @ 01:12:52
Poor heron. I hope he finds his way back to a pond. Nice music choices. XO
Jan 14, 2025 @ 00:17:48
That really is a big beautiful birdie and maybe it will come visit your garden next.
Jan 14, 2025 @ 00:12:30
Oh you kitties are so adorable ~ letting Granny know about the Blue Heron on the roof and sharing your food ~ Great post and photos ~

W lov herons – we hop this one fids a food source and can survive.
Jan 16, 2025 @ 00:42:50
Goodness – our “e” key has gone AWOL ! We hope the heron finds a safe place and some appropriate food.
Jan 13, 2025 @ 23:14:46
You boys are the sweetest to offer to share your cans of fishies. We didn’t even know a heron could eat a mousie, but if Granny says so, we believe it. There’s so much to share!
Love and licks,
Cupcake
Jan 15, 2025 @ 20:16:12
Cupcake, they eat froggies and big bugs and little birdies too, but only when they don’t have something fishable😸😸
Jan 13, 2025 @ 21:35:18
WOW! What a big beautiful bird you saw outside – and you boys are very kind to want to give him something to eat. We hope your Mom was right and he found a mousie or something yummy to eat. Meanwhile I bet you had fun keeping an eye on him out there!!!!
Hugs, Teddy

You are generous to offer that heron some of your fish. We have two that walk around our fields, then they fly into our neighbour’s field and go fishing in his ponds.
Great choice of music as always.
Jan 13, 2025 @ 20:52:17
Boys, you are so generous in your thoughts for the heron. Mom likes them. We have some here too.
Jan 13, 2025 @ 19:43:06
That poor bird! He seems really out of place in the cold. Is it common to spot these sea birds there in the winter? I hope he survives the weather. Thanks for joining us on the dance floor Granny and boys. Have a boogietatic week, my furriends!
Jan 15, 2025 @ 20:25:01
No worries, CK, they’re flying over all the time, and trying to find a fishie in the pond of some neighbor’s, but the neighbors put a net on top of it, so the heron has to go to his own pond to get his fishie…or froggie, or big bugs😸😸
Jan 13, 2025 @ 19:36:35
The heron may be a little misplaced but I think he or she will be fine in the end. The cold wouldn’t be a concern in all probability. We have blue herons here and it isn’t uncommon for us to go below your -17C (our 0 F) one or more times in the winter.
Jan 13, 2025 @ 19:15:35
A big bird like that would make Manny and DB go off their gourds!
Jan 13, 2025 @ 18:18:48
They are most graceful birds. I hope he found some food. Way too cold for that baby.
Love your playlist. Great music.
You two are most handsome. Tell Granny I said so.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Double Pawkisses to you both and a big hug to your wonderful Granny. ♥
Jan 13, 2025 @ 17:32:26
Holy big bird! That had to be a very unusual sight. We hope he found something tasty to eat and recalculated his GPS. Happy Monday.
