these mousies look a little
strange…
and besides hanging in there
they’re useless…🙈

what the polka dot ribbon
…that we made our own
when Granny got the Easterstuff down
from the attic….
thinks about it…
I guess it has been appoved…
now I only have to see
if it’s scratch resistant…
…the couch certainly is…
…not…😹
so we’re very
T H A N K F U L
for the new scratcher
that we hardly use…
…so we keep it in good shape…MOL…
Granny is
T H A N K F U L
that the slugs and snakes
are still very small…
so she can take them up
without gloves…
if they’re bigger they’re to slimy…
…and a little yikes…
and she also still
lives with her motto
…Live and Let Live…
she puts them on the hedges
in the front garden…
where they’re going to be recycled
by the birdies
or other creatures…
and she hopefully
has found a new solution
against the nest of ants
under Apple…
Apple is still very stressed
because of the activity underground
and above…
so Granny will try the nematodes
and hopefully the ants put up their bags
and leave the building soon🙏

Beautiful scratcher!! I bought one for my cats like that a few years ago. Every time they pulled their claws hard on it the thing flipped over on them. lol!! They finally gave up on it. I’m thinking those might be best for kittens. As for ants, I’ve been in feral cat rescue for over 40 years, and ants are always an issue. Especially when feeding outdoor cat colonies. What we do is mix a cup of borax (mule team brand from the grocery store) with a cup of white sugar. Spread it all around your apple tree. The ants will eat the sugar laced with borax and die. They’ll all be gone in 24 hours. I’ve used this recipe for decades for outdoor ants. Much better than chemical ant killer. And it doesn’t harm my plants. Hopefully it will work for you too!!

That is a very pretty scratcher and it looks SUPER SOFT! We also really liked your poem for that CRAZY photo this week. Nobody could relax enough in there to “do their business” – humans like privacy while we cats can go anywhere anytime! HAHAHAHA Good job boys!

That scratcher has a lot going on – it’s soft, it’s scratchy, it has hidden mousies… Wow! Granny is very brave to take on the snails, snakes, and even ants. So much caring and kindness. Mom has more squeamishness and fear of things like that.

Those scratchers are way cool. Granny was smart to put it by the couch to encourage you to use it instead, maybe if you need more encouragement, she could sprinkle a little catnip on it.
I’m glad the snails and ants are being encouraged to leave and hope they do so.
As for your poem, you are exactly right!

You have an Ess Scratcher! They are so good, or so the boys used to tell me. Yuk to the slugs and snails. We use to have two ducks who kept them under control for us.
