it’s the Painted Lady…
Granny says
we’re allowed to look
but not touch…

when she flies to another
piece of the Verbena…
now she sits very still
and drinks of the flower…
it’s fascinating
how she does that
with that long stem
that’s hanging out of her…
that’s her tongue

We hope it’s not too hot for you – We’ve been hearing how terribly, terribly, scorchingly hot it is in Europe! It’s furry hot here, too – but at least we’re sort of used to it.

Oh we love the sunflower umbrella! It’s wonderful to add so much nice shade to the garden so it isn’t so very hot hot hot when the sun is out. The butterfly looks very happy to have so many pretty flowers to visit and have a rest on before visiting the next flower. The garden looks so pretty AND the two kitties who live there are obviously happy to be enjoying the garden too. PERFECT!
