Hi (furry)furriends,
I hardly have finished my dinner yet,
but I have to do some shopping,
for my furriends Bacon and Fozzie
so that we can compare the prices
from all over the world.
I’ve seen that my furriends Roxy and Tigerlino
already have finished their blog,
so that means that I am really late again…
as usual 😀

So, no more talking…

but let’s hit the road…

very carefully…easy does it…

and I’ll be back in a minute…

Here we are….

Little twofeet-sister has helped me
as you see…
And here are the results of the Dutch jury
the prices from the Netherlands:
…
– Price of cable services for one month – what do you get for that price? Euro 27,25 = Am.Dollar 37.10.
Let’s see, we have about 131 HD televison programs…and when we watch, we watch maybe about 4…MOL… 😀
– A 12 ounce box (360 grams) of Cornflakes – we only found a box of 375 grams of Euro 1,55 = Am.Dollar 2.11. We don’t eat this. Granny doesn’t eat gluten and Grandpa eats only organic cruesli, and I eat only the fishy types.
– A 15 ounce package (432 grams) of Oreos or other cream filled cookies – 246 grams of Oreo cost Euro 2,15 = Am.Dollar 2.93. Granny tasted this once, just to know why effurrybody likes it, but she never bought it again 😀
– A 7 ounce bag (225 grams) of Lay’s potato chips. – Euro 1,26 = Dollar 1.72. This is Grandpa’s favorite too 🙂
– 1 pound of real butter.- Euro 3,70 = Dollar 5.04. We buy only organic butter mostly in another shop, where it cost Euro 2,90 = Am.Dollar 3.95, so that’s much cheaper.
– A 6 ounce can of peanuts. – I didn’t find 6 ounces of peanuts, but 235 g unsalted peanuts for Euro 1,07 = Am.Dollar 1,46.
…

I have to go now,
little two-feet broke Granny’s duck,
so I have to fix it, before she notice 😉

The perfect chair for chatting. Enjoyed the shopping comparisons.
It’s just before summer holiday of July 4th, so there are sales on picnic foods.
Lay’s Potato chips that size are about $2.00 US. A 16oz jar of peanuts are on special for $3.00 this week. Oreo Cookies are listed at $2.98 on special.
If the weather is good, we are going to a farm to pick produce on Wed. Tomatoes are waiting!
We shall be careful going down the road – you, too Little Binky!
Jun 30, 2014 @ 09:25:29
Thank you so much for your input Philmouse. Sales are good, we always watch and buy were it’s cheapest. Farm tomatoes are delicious. We have such kind of shop too and effurrything is fresh and cheaper than in a shop and a much greater choice too. Don’t worry, Philmouse, mostly I stay at the right side of the street, but for this occasion I crossed it 😉 Pawkisses 🙂

Jun 26, 2014 @ 23:33:20
It is interesting to see the price of food in different countries. Your prices look very similar to ours.
Jul 02, 2014 @ 11:24:01
Thank you for your input, Flynn. It’s nice to see the different prices from all over the world. Pawkisses 🙂
Jun 26, 2014 @ 22:54:31
Hi LilBinkie
Wow some of those prices are good. Butter is expensive compared to here
Conshohocken
You dont want to know what Dad pays for Cable and all. He is getting ready to chuck it.
Jul 02, 2014 @ 11:28:51
Oh my, that must be the most expensive cable subscription of all…I’m curious, Timmy, we like to know…tell me before he chucks it 😉 Extra pawkisses for your input 🙂

Jun 26, 2014 @ 15:52:19
Oh Little Binky we found you in our spam box!! but here we are hahaaha 🙂 what a great shop you did i am amazed that your organic butter is cheaper than your regular butter …here everything organic costs more!! and gluten free is far from free in price…anyone with Coeliacs pays a whole lot for gluten free…thanks for joining our shopping trip Bravo on the pics loved them…hope ducky is ok 🙂 hugs and loves Fozziemum xx
Jun 26, 2014 @ 17:35:49
Thanks for fishing us out of the Spam box and commenting, Fozziemum, whilst you having trouble with your eyes. I’ll give you an extra pawkiss for that later 😉 Usually butter and organic food is more expensive in Holland too, but Granny has become a bargain-hunter, so she finds where it is the cheapest. There is so much request on organic and gluten free food, that there’s almost no difference between the prices of normal food and organic food anymore, at least not so much anymore. We have so much fun doing this post and reading all the other ones, that we’re looking forward to the next shopping. Extra Pawkisses ❤ Btw Grandpa and I have glued the parts together, so ducky is standing in the garden as if nothing ever happened 😉
Jun 27, 2014 @ 12:35:46
Hahaahha so glad ducky is a ok 🙂 and go granny! bargains are great…we still have a big difference between organic and non organic here..at least the quality has improved as it used to be very bad food being sold as organic simply because organic was seen as being a lesser product..now certifications are in the goods are better..still dearer but getting there :)hugs and loves Fozziemum xx ❤ ❤
Jun 26, 2014 @ 03:44:07
Like Col I don’t like to convert to our currency…
Jun 26, 2014 @ 17:43:14
..but then we don’t have anything to compare… Pawkisses 🙂
Jun 26, 2014 @ 02:27:38
Wow what fun yous had shoppin’. Luv it and luv da fotos.
Luv ya’
Dezi
Jun 26, 2014 @ 17:46:08
Shopping is great, Dezi. It’s good to stretch my paws 😉 Pawkisses 🙂
Jun 26, 2014 @ 19:03:03
♥♥ 😀 ♥♥
Jun 25, 2014 @ 22:15:34
Translating those prices to our depressed currency fills me with gloom …
Butter on pawsies is ever so good at introducing cats to a new home. We’re going to need it. (Hey, it is NOT an old wives’ tale – it works!)
Jun 26, 2014 @ 17:52:27
Sorry, the prices are so depressing, we know how that feels too 😦 We know the trick of butter, it works indeed…and it still does 😀 Pawkisses 🙂
Jun 25, 2014 @ 21:55:00
That was interesting! We don’t eat any of the food mentioned except the real organic butter – which costs about double here, despite this being the country known for producing such things! I remember many years ago when I went to live in the UK discovering that prices there were pretty much the same in terms of pound for dollar, despite the fact that a dollar only bought 33 pence. I suspect the real comparison lies in what your money is worth in another currency. 🙂
Jun 26, 2014 @ 18:12:02
I guess that’s right, Pauline, but also we can’t compare the Euro anymore with our Dutch Gulden, since it has changed into Euros. We now have half of what we had, so better no comparison anymore…sigh.. Butter is expensive here too, but Granny knows where she can buy it cheaper, she has become a bargain-hunter since she only eats organic and gluten free 😀 Thanks for your input. Pawkisses and one extra for Orlando and one for the baby ❤
Jun 25, 2014 @ 20:56:40

Your prices are quite similar to our ones! 🙂

Jun 26, 2014 @ 20:16:24

Jun 26, 2014 @ 20:33:20

Jun 25, 2014 @ 19:20:01
Your trip to the shops sounds like quite an adventure! Good luck fixing the duck 🙂
Jun 26, 2014 @ 20:37:03
It’s always very exciting, Draliman, especially when little two-feet help…to break effurrything. Duck has been fixed, but then she broke the cute little pussycat in the trolley and that one fell into a thousand pieces..sigh… 😀 Pawkisses 🙂
Jun 25, 2014 @ 19:04:08
A very interesting post Binky, now I’ll compare & contrast prices next time I go to the supermarket here, just out of plain curiosity! Pawkisses to you & Granny 😀
Jun 26, 2014 @ 20:40:13
Yes, that’s what we do, Athina…in the end they all be the same, I guess…expensive 😀 Pawkisses for your input 🙂
Jun 25, 2014 @ 17:55:30
