Aww…Monday Music Spark

Hi (Furry)furriends ❤

Oh, no…

not again…

Here we go again…

Yesterday we had a major storm…

and today we have this…

all over the place…

Thank Cat the LadyBug got herself an island…

in time…

and my new furriends…the pigeons

found themselves some hot steamy stones

on top of the roof…

yes, I know that you only saw one of them…

but one flew away when they saw…

Granny…

while the other one furrooze…

I guess this is the best time

to make some music with my furriends at

with this week’s Theme

Vintage Songs Covered by not-so-long-ago artists…

Let’s see what we found for the challenge…

Granny chosed a few songs that she remembers

and that touched her heart

when she was a young girl…

This song of 1963 has covered by…

Grace and G-Eazy in 2015…

We’re not so in this “Yo Yo Yo” Hip Hop thinging…

but the way they put this song into a new furr

is absolutely well done…

Look what we have here…

I put a Spell on you from CCR 1968…NOT!

The original is of ‘Screamin’Jay Hawkins 1956

and we have to say…it’s screaming…MOL 😀

This song is covered many times

but we still love the for us original version of CCR…

and now…tada…

50 shades of Annie Lennox

has covered it in 2014…

The next song we found was

Summer wine of Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood…

goosey bumps and nostalgia coming by…

while the “Angels kissing Spring”

This song was covered by

Ville Valo and Natalia Avelon in 2007…

and it’s a nice version of the original…

but Granny only likes to listen to this song

because the singer looks like ‘her’ Johnny Depp…MOL…

well…at least in this video…

Here comes another song

that made a deep impurression on Granny…

The Animals…

with Don’t let me be misunderstood of 1965…

The original was from Nana Simone in 1954

and guess who made a cover out of it in 2012…

Great singer…great voice…purrfect purrformance…

*mumbles* still like the Animals more…

How about this song of Vanilla Fudge’s

You just keep me hangin’ on of 1968…

Great purrformance if you ask me…

Kim Wilde made a succesfull cover of it in 1986

and Michael Bolton covered it in 2013

that was amazing…

unfortunately we don’t have a video of it

because we don’t have iTunes…

and the video is blocked for our Country…

but when you can see the video

you really have to take a look at it and listen… ❤

There are so many songs that have been covered

so this is just a tiny little piece of it…

but we like the original songs best…

that means…

the original songs for Granny

when she heard it for the first time….

every song is a memory…

some good…some bad…

but there’s a whole childhood recorded

in every one of these songs…

I hope the post will show up easily

with all the videos…

if not, please leave me a comment

so we know what to do next time…

“Granny…

I have to get myself a business

with all of these investigations”…MOL 😀

💗Have a swinging Monday everyone💗

Miss Ladybug was safe inside, sis, but didn’t made it. There were no furresh lice, so she flew away and was found on the ground two days later. Granny burried her in the plant 😦 I think we all go for the Animals here too, sweet BellaDharma 😀 Pawkisses for you and your LadyMum🐾😽💞

Lesley Gore is always a favorite of mine. I saw her at one of those oldies concerts in the early ’90’s, and she really got the crowd going. Had a little trouble with the backup band, as I recall.

I also prefer CCR’s “I Put A Spell On You,” but a young lady named Angelina Jordan did a cover of it that was really good. She’s a phenom, a 13-year-old girl that started out covering Billie Holiday songs when she was 7 or 8. Sounded just like Lady Day…

I always liked Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazelwood’s cover of “Jackson,” and this was good as well.

I like Mick Hucknall when he’s doing Simply Red’s material, but I agree, Eric Burdon is the only person that should sing that. And Vanilla Fudge did a great job covering The Supremes on “You Keep Me Hanging On”: They took a great “girl group” song and converted it into a psychedelic blues-rock number.

    Good choices!

Whoa! Snow! Our’s is almost gone. Even though the Vanilla Fudge did a pawsome version of “You Keep Me Hanging On,” the original was the Supresmes from the early 60s. We always enjoy cover versions. So glad another furrend joined the hop.

You’re absolutely right, CK, it was the Surpremes in 1966, thanks for correcting me, I was so into the snow and the version of Vannilla Fudge, that we overlooked the Surpremes…MOL.. Well, thanks again for noticing ❤ Pawkisses🐾😽💞

The snow was gone a few hours later, Brian, and then we had hail and rain and hail and snow and sun and hail and in the meantime the whole garden was one big mess of the wind…MOL 😀 Pawkisses🐾😽💞

You chose some great songs, Little Binky. I think the Grace and G-Eazy version was used on a Christmas advert a few years ago and I like it as much as the original. I was a big fan of the Animals so that will always be the best version for me.

Your vintage songs covered by modern artists is a nice set. Most of your song picks are new-to-me. I really liked the ‘Summer Wine’ cover. Just so you’ll know this week is ‘freebie picks – your choice song picks’ but usually I create a theme of some sort for these weeks to follow. I’m glad you decided to go with what I did, though. BTW, The Animals and Vanilla Fudge videos are blocked so I couldn’t see these on your site. 😦 Thanks for sharing the dance floor with me today. Have a boogietastic week!

Thank you, CK. We didn’t know exactly what you meant with the picks, (English is still a little confusing for us,) but now we understand a little bit more of what the intention is. We were just busy with the music, but hopefully it’s getting clearer for us next time. Thanks for your input and I liked to dance with you again. This blog hop makes our heart sing♪♫♪ Pawkisses🐾😽💞
