A Few Thankfuls And A Few Not

Hi (Furry)furriends💗

We hadve a very busy week

and I have to guard my garden

even more than ever…

because there’s an army

of ants making themselves an underground

through all our beautiful flowers…

first they encamped at the bottom of the trunk

of our roses…

and then they walk up and down

to nurture the aphids

by milking them

so they can defend themselves

against the LadyBugs…

that don’t come here anymore

because of that….

I can see them Granny

there they go again…

they already destroyed our Raspberry…

no, no, not MY raspberry…

but that one in the big planter…

and our Cherry tree…

that was full of LadyBugs to help us

to recycle the lice…

until the ants came

in full glory…

so Granny had to cut the tree…

so the lice couldn’t infect the other trees

and flowers…

and now they have found the berry bush

to feed themselves without permission…

and Granny is getting a little depressing

of it all…

on the other hand…

she’s learning a lot of it…

she knows what NOT works to get rid of them

the natural way…😹

We only use natural remedies for everything…

because everything in life has its job

and we don’t want to destroy other creatures

by doing their job…

besides they have something to tell…

…until we not listen

to what they have to say

they will stay…

so now we have to listen very carefully

what they want to tell us…

it’s all a matter of time and balance…

and as we have had every year some kind of invasion

of different species…

we sure will survive this one too…

and now it’s time for my

T H A N K F U L s

I’m

T H A N K F U L

that the Olive tree is coming back…

because you were all so kind

to help us

by sending healing to it the other day…

and for the light that still is shining

upon us…

the strawberries

that have found another place

to grow better…

my overgrown nip…

garden helpers…

and fairytales…

and he’s

T H A N K F U L

that Granny saved him from drowning…

and we’re

T H A N K F U L

for my furriends Trompie and Ineke

who painted this awwdorable painting

while thinking of me…

I see a lot of resemblances

how about you?

I’m going to work on my poem now…

while I keep an eye

on the invaders…

“You don’t score points

when you look so sour

I can’t help it

that it’s your crying hour.

It’s just normal

every day

to cry your tears out

and away

and when it takes to long

I’ll be here

to sing a song

so you feel happy

all night long…

or notty

when you have to go potty.”

🌸🐜🐜🐜📚Have a Wonderful Weekend my furriends📚🐜🐜🐜🌸

🙏Stay Safe Healthy and Yourselfie🙏

We appreciate that Granny tries to do things the all natural way; and we know exactly how challenging and discouraging that can be sometimes!

Love the painting and the fact that your olive tree is doing well. I’ve never met anyone who loves ants when they go marching. Interest post, Binky. 👏🏻🤗

Charlee: “Those ants are always causing trouble around here, too.”
Chaplin: “They climb all over Mama’s flowers and farm aphids on them.”
Charlee: “They seem to be very industrious with their unwelcome work ethic!”

We are sorry for all those ants, Binky. We know you and Granny will listen to nature and figure out what is best. Hooray for the olive tree coming back, and the strawberries!

I’m so sorry you’re being invaded by ants but it’s wonderful you’ve found so much to be thankful for in spite of it!

Really cute poem and art, and your garden is stunning. Sorry about the ants . We have them too. Mom is trying some ground, dried mint from our garden. She read that it is a natural remedy. We’ll let you know how it works. Hope to see you tomorrow for selfies. ants are indeed a nuisance. I sprinkle cinnamon around the ants and they get quite disturbed….going in circles- the cinnamon scent covers their trails and they get quite confused. Have a good day sleeping in the sunshine!

How awful that you had to chop down your cherry tree! That hurts to think about. Ours has many baby cherries maturing. Maybe this year I can harvest a few before the birds and squirrels eat their fill. We share!

I hope the ants teach and tell what they were meant to, and then be on their way so the ladybugs can come and fix things. We do like the light coming into the garden AND see great potential for the overgrown nip and the strawberries!

We have a balcony loaded with plants and every now and then we see a trail of ants or some other unwelcome guests. My hubby sprays our plants with water and an added tablespoon of Dawn dish soap. It works well. 😻

Bugs in the garden are just so MEAN aren’t they Binky. They make short work of destroying the plants our Moms try so hard to grow. We like to use natural things to get rid of pests but sometimes they seem to LIKE natural stuff so it’s hard to find the right way to go about saying BYE BYE to PESTS! We sure do love your poem – it’s so cute and funny…..little babies have such “elastic” faces and can change their mood in an INSTANT! Sending you hugs from my house in Virginia…….

    Love, Teddy

OH, lovely garden and mama is ordering ladybugs today, but have you tried Black Soap…Savon Noir is what all the French garden gurus use on aphids, hence no ants…It WORKS. Mama uses it on our hibiscus. And if you plant nasturtiums, the aphids LOVE nasturtiums and mama’s garden guru says it’s good to let the aphids munch on nasturtiums because then they don’t munch on anything else! But savon noir is a miracle.

That garden invasion is like a war…battles go on and on, till eventually Granny WILL win and be triumphant.
Right now we have lots of green worms eating our columbines, and they are not seen by enough birds…and soon there will be battles here against all the red lice/aphids that eat up our yellow daisies. Not to mention the tomato worms, UGH!

    Cute poem!!

I don’t like ants, but this year we have far more birds than normal. They go around all the borders eating the ants. A woodpeckers also digs out the nests in the lawn. He makes a bit of a mess but it is easy to flatten the grass back down after he has finished and the ants are all gone.
    That is a cute poem.

Oh, Jackie, send him to us. We have birdies in the garden, but they only eat the lice and there’s not enough birdies for all the ants, so a woodpecker would be more than welcome🙏Pawkisses🐾😽💞

Oh meow my those invaders are no picnic in your wonderful garden but we think if Granny listens really hard she will get an answer. Have you tried (food grade) Diatomaceous earth? We have heard Cinnamon or Pepper around plants works too.
That is a wonderful painting and many do look a lot like you Binky. Great Poem for Potty time MOL Have a wonderful weekend friends

Great poem. I am glad the olive tree is doing better. You need an exterminator to put poison down that they carry back to the nest, but you need to stay inside for a while for safety. XO

You are right and granny too. Each insect has a job to do. If, we destroy their job, they may die case this is how they get food. We dislike ants with a passion here at Fort Meezer but we love spiders cause they kill the ants. I think they call it the cycle of life.

Speaking of ants, we had them in our home last week. For several days hubby was fighting them back. Spring is a hard time to make sure the ants don’t get in your home. It is for us anyway. I know granny will take care of the ants while protecting the other critters that do such good work.
