Working Hard In The Yard

Hi (Furry)furriends💗

We were working hard in the garden…

the whole Summer…

and now that Summer is coming to an end

we sure want to be grateful

for everything that it brought us…

a very lot of Blackberries…

so much that we were able to share them…

with the whole family…

and it’s still not ready to stop giving us

more of these delicious fruits every day…

and here are our apples

that have fallen down of the apple tree…

the only ones that were hanging in there this year

and who were not eaten by Adam Ants and worms…

and we’re so

T H A N K F U L

for all of that and my furriends

the garden helpers…

who were working more than 18 hours

a day…

without a break…

so we could have the best fruit

and flowers…

and they’re

T H A N K F U L

that they could bring a lot of filled bags

on their back home with them…

we’re also

T H A N K F U L

for my young furriends…

who make sure that they’re heard

every day…

and the ones who took over

the alarm of their pawrents…

that even predominates my voice…

and then the Ants…

I don’t know if they ever sleep…

they dig and drag everything around…

making holes in the garden…

living under our other rose now…

and even changed colour

when we saw another invasion

in the front yard…

I wonder who’s their boss

who make them work so hard…

Granny’s also grateful for the caterpillar

that has settled herself in the nettles…

and these two…

who ate all of her thyme…

she’s okay with that

as she says that the reward is in

the upcoming Butterfly…

at least

if the birdies doesn’t see them…

Oh…

and we’re so happy that our French furriend

found his way back to his house again…

they have been away for a few days

so Granny thought they went back to their Country…

but only one of them came back the other day…

and he told her about the mean Dragonfly…

who was very hungry…

I hope it wasn’t his wife

that was eaten by the Dragonfly…🙏

We all worked so hard in the yard

that we need a little mewsic now…

in style for the weekly mewsic hop…

and this week’s Theme

National Boss/Employee Exchange Day

and while you’re listen to my choices

I have to take care of my business now…

Takin’ Care of Business – Bachman-Turner Overdrive (1973)

Working Class Hero – John Lennon (1970)

For the first time – The Script (2010)

Maggie’s Farm – Bob Dylan (1965)

Beer on the table – Josh Thompson (2010)

Bang on the drum – Todd Rundgen (1982)

Won’t get fooled again – The Who (1971)

Come on…

up on your paws now

and let’s all get funky…

♪♫♪Movin’ and doin’ it, you know
Can I count it off? (Go ahead)

One, two, three, four!♪♫♪

If you don’t give a doggone about it – James Brown (1977)

and now we can relax…

with a little drawing…

a puzzle…

and a little fishing…

“When life gets tough

and your mind blows off

just sit down at the creek

where the water isn’t to deep

relax and think of the fishie

to put later on your dishie

or let him fly

into the sky

when a birdie is flying by

yeah

one of the best ways to undrop

is with a fishing rod.”

We LOVE blackberries…and all the other ones too!
We used to have a lot of wild blackberries and they were in great abundance, though now with a harsh couple of winters, and very dry summers, they seem to have fizzled away…we only had a few berries this year. But we had lots of mulberries! We have to be quick when they get ripe, else the birds gobble them al up!
One year before we had a fence,m the neighbor’s geese came and got all the ones on the lower branches and trampled the other plants nearby n their efforts to get at them.

Your garden is a lively place, full of harvests from all the love you bestow on it!

What great harvest. I just realise that it could be catterpillars who eat all my leaves of my Passionfruit plant. They are all gone again too. Good to have the little creatures who are beautiful butterflies in the end. 🙂 Have a great week!

So many good things in summer to be thankful for. We have lots of bee activity and hover flies. Little in the way of fruit except wild strawberries which the beetles eat.
Lovely and hard jigsaw this week!
Purrs of love to you, Binky!

Binky, having a garden always has a lot of ups and downs – good times and bad – we are glad you and Granny and Granpa were able to enjoy your garden this summer.

    Binky,

Your list of thankfuls are plenty and with good reason to include. God’s little creatures have important jobs we all benefit from and we should count each one as blessings. When I was little I loved picking wild blackberries and raspberries. That was such a treat and so much fun! I’m glad you were able to join the 4M crew on the dance floor. You really brought some great tunes to the party. I got a kick out of your poem – nicely written. Have a good weekend, what’s left of it anyhow. 🙂

You and Granny have been very busy in your garden. The ants aren’t welcome here, they get everywhere and try to come indoors. I didn’t know that dragonflies ate wasps. One year I saw a wasp keep coming into the bedroom with very small caterpillars. I watched where he was going and he was shoving the caterpillars in a little hole in the back of my dressing table! I think he was gathering food ready to build a nest there. Not in my bedroom thank you very much!!!

It looks like all your hard work in the garden has paid off with the (literal) fruits of your labor. Those berries look absolutely amazing. Remember, an apple a day keeps the doctor away. Have a great weekend, Binky!

    A delightful post!
We are grateful for whatever it is that chewed on my plants, for it they are tasty, then they are healthy!
Every year, we add more native-to-Michigan plants, to entice the native bugs, birds and bats, and will continue to do so until the yard is full, like the undergrowth in a wild forest.
Thank you for the puzzle…off to play.
