Chasing Cars on a Poetic Thankful Thursday

Hi (Furry)furriends💗

Granny

I’m working on inspiration

for this week’s mewsic Theme

Cars and Racing…

but the only thing I can see

is a high away star…

Highway Star – Deep Purple (1972)

that now falls down to the ground couch…

Speedway at Nazareth – Mark Knopfler & Emmylou Harris (2000)

so fast that it also could have been

a fast car…

Fast Car – Tracy Chapman (1988)

Mercedes Benz – Janis Joplin (1970)

Little Red Corvette – Prince (1982)

or even faster…

Faster – George Harrison (1979)

to fast for me…

better stop chasing stars…

Chasing Cars – Snow Patrol (2006)

I want to drive my own car…

Drive – The Cars (1984)

but first I want to tell you

that Granny and I are

T H A N K F U L

for the new fly curtain

so she doesn’t hang in there anymore

with her hairpin, glasses, ring, nails…

err…my nails…🙈

and whatever could hold you back

when you try to get through it…😸

so now we have a little breezer…

and walk through it with

ease, joy and glory…

…see…

I only have two more things on my list…

my almost final song…

I’m in love with my car – Queen (1975)

I drove all night – Roy Orbison (1987)

looks like I drove all night to come to here…MOL…

anyway…

speaking about hairpins…

this is my poem for my furriends

Teddy and Angel Sammy on this picture…

“Hey Babe

let your hair hang down

it doesn’t matter

if it comes to the ground

it has its benefits

so far so clear

because you don’t have

anymore clothes to wear

just like my furry cloak

on my well shaped undercoat

for me it isn’t rare

because Granny’s hair

is also halfway there.”

Great poem, Binky, and we always love seeing you and listening to your music choices! We thought you might also include “Cars,” By Gary Numan. 🙂

Lots of car songs to race your cars with!
That is a great fly curtain. Quite pretty! Do the flies actually stay outside with that kind. We need screens here.

    Your poem had me giggling:)

Nice song choices, especially The Cars and Janis Joplin. Great job on the poem too. Granny must have pretty long hair. XO

    Binky,

You’re such a creative kitty with you weave the song titles in with your post. The music was great. Your poem made me smile. I haven’t had long hair since my early teens. I’m thankful for good furriends like you and Granny. Take care and thanks for joining the 4M crew on the dance floor. Have a boogietastic weekend!

Great songs about cars Little Binky. One of my old favourites was “Baby you can drive my car.” Good poem about that long hair too.

The fly curtain is different and unusual. I have never heard of a fly curtain, but once I ate a fly.

    Love and licks,

You did a great job on chasing cars, Little Binky.
Love the poem, but can’t imagine all that hair. I did have it down to my waist when I was in my early 20s. I loved it too.
Have a fabulous day and rest of the week. Pawkisses to you and my best to your Granny. ♥

Oh Binky you make me giggle! I love your poem for the photo this week with all that HAIR! I bet you are glad like I am that we don’t have hair like that. Imagine how uncomfortable that would be. I think you should also be glad you do NOT have a car because people are crazy on the roads. We should stay home, stay cool, stay happy and just be RELAXED!

Sending hugs and love, Teddy XXOO
