Expurrts of the invasion

Hi (Furry)furriends💗

…Rise and Shine…

Stippie…

it’s finally Summer…

and since she came to our Country

we had to do a lot again

in the garden…

…first we started with our Pear tree…

you won’t believe what the ants did…

they laid their eggs

in effurry part of our Pear tree…

and not just a few…

we found big, huge, small…

in short

an overdose of each kind of eggs…🙈

so we had to empty it all out…

and gave them a furresh dive

into the …err…sea…

but because all the roots of the tree

were full of eggs too

Granny had a lot of work

to get them clean again…

she didn’t want to lose her Pear tree

that she raised from when she was

just a little girl ♪♫♪…tree…

and so beautiful in bloom this year…

that we thought

she will finally give us some eggs…err…pears…

but unfortunately the ants

…and not to forget

the weather…

…had other plans fot her…

so now Granny is trying effurrything

to keep her safe and alife…

like Apple…once our appletree…

now in the hands of the ants and the lice too…

it was getting even worse

because effurrything that Granny did

lead to nothing…

because the rain didn’t stop

and the ants either…

and when it finally got better

and the leaves started to bloom properly again

…after the daily care…

all the new branches fell off the tree…

and so we’re back from where we started…

she looks better now…

but there’s still a lot daily work to do

because the ants are still busy

milking the few lices that are still in it…

so we have to be very observant

to take action immediately

so that the lice don’t multiply again…

and in that case

…more ants…

and despite how terrible Apple is feeling

she did her best to give a few new born apples…

…see…

…she was full in bloom before this all started…

and so sad that Granny had to take them away from her

but she told her

that she needs all her strenghts now

to get better…

and that she can try again next year…

it’s really hard work out here…

we spend hours in the garden to fix these problems…

…without poisoned stuff…

we know that we can do it without it…

it only takes a little a lot more time

and thus more patience…

but it’s not all doom and gloom…

look at this…

the clematis is full in bloom now…

without creatures that cling to her…

and we hung the curtains…

because it’s finally hot out here…

…almost 38℃ (102F) in the garden…

…the whole week…

…and we all love it…

…except Grandpaw…

we also had ONE strawberry…

and after we ate it

she now has two in the making…🍓

and we had only ONE raspberry

…none of the other plants didn’t grew well enough…

but Summer isn’t over yet

so maybe there’s hope for more…

and look at our French Geranium…

…nice huh…

and she’s doing well…

she keeps her eyes on effurrything😸

and our Hypericum is full in bloom too…

to attrack the one and only Bumble Bee this year…

not really…

there were two more yesterday morning…

but far too little this year…

we hope they’ll come later this week…

and the Butterflies too…

because we only had two of them

…so far…

and we need more activity here outside

because otherwise Granny has to entertain us

for the rest of Summer…😹

and now look

who’s having a Spa…

talking about a Spa…

we were a guest teaser

in last week’s teaser

with a picture of Spa Belgium…

click on the badge if you like to see it…

now it’s time for this week’s poem

for our furriends

Angel Sammy and Teddy…

on this picture

“There’s a whole invasion

of countless ants in nation

fixated on just one goal

milking lice to rock and roll

the trees have to pay the price

for the honey filled lice

sugared and sweet

like it was a treat

in this Summer heat

and if we weren’t there

taking care

of our beloved trees

and with our expertise

to bring them to their knees

they still would hanging around

piled together like a crowd

without making any sound

just a bunch of ants and lice

on their way to Paradise.”

We’re

T H A N K F U L

that we have it all under control

…now…

but it sure needs daily care…

…and with a little magic touch…🧙‍♀️

it will all work out fine

in the end…

look who’s taking care of her youngster too…

✨that’s magic huh✨

📚Have a Happy Sunday my furriends📚

You have a lovely garden, no wonder all the ants want to live there 🙂

Oh, dear, how awful to have your trees invaded and tortured by those lice and ants. I do hope its all going to be good now,and that next year you might have a nice crop from them.

Wonderful poetry, guys. We have to say we’re with your Grandpaw on the temperatures. We don’t like that much heat either. So sorry the ants continue to bring misery to the trees. We hope you are able to rid them from your garden organically.

You two are amazing gardeners and so observant too. I’m glad you are getting things under control, that’s something to be thankful for indeed. That was a fun poem too. Thanks for joining Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

Such issues in the garden! Yikes. Time and patience are things that Granny knows how to manage. Plus, she always has creative ideas to solve problems. All of the garden members will get the care that they need. That said, the garden looks incredible in spite of the misplaced critters. And you two make it all even prettier!

    Love and licks,

hope Granny can win her battle and help her trees and the rest of the garden get well. Ants invaded one of our birdfeeders, so we had to retire it til the next freeze…

Charlee: “Ants are very industrious. Mama has caught them farming on her plants more than once, too.”Chaplin: “Why does she stop them? Couldn’t she impose like a 20% harvest tax on them? Then we would eat like kings.”Charlee: “… You want to eat what the ants harvest?”Chaplin: “Why not? I eat cobwebs and whatever I find stuck to the stove after Dada is done cooking but before he has wiped up. How much worse could farmed ant produce be?”

Wow. We’ve never had an ant investigation. That sounds horrible. Probably a good thing we haven’t had anything like that. After our human dad died, Mom and our human brother didn’t do too much outside for a few years. Including digging up the dying peach tree. Just as well. It regrew from the roots and looks better than ever.

Looks as if MANY things are done really well in your garden, despite the visiting slugs and ants. Ants are everywhere this summer in our little village….sigh. They never were before.

SOOOO much work in the garden but the plants who are surviving after being “invaded” look like they (with help from Granny) are winning the battle! Many of them look like they are trying VERY hard to make Granny smile after all her work to help them. We hope the rest of the summer the ants and lice and other BAD things stay away. We are sure you will see Granny smiling at the efforts of all her very hard time getting rid of the problems out there. Thank you again for the fabulous SPA photo for Teaser – it was a very popular photo for the contest!!

Lots of hugs and love, Teddy (and Mom)

Your poor trees, those ant and lice are horrible. I admit I do use poison for the ants when they get bad. I buy ant stations which have poison in and the holes are only big enough for ants, nothing bigger. They take the poison back to their nests and soon disappear.

Oh Peachy and Stippie—you all certainly have your hands full!

As for those lice, spraying with ‘groene zeep’ is still an old household thing to do. If they’re dead, the ants will no longer snack on them either.

What gorgeous roses you have and also that geranium!

    Lots of success and hugs,

Stippie, Peachy, that is a LOT of work for Granny! Those awful lice and ants…they overwhelm Granny’s fruit trees and that makes a terrible disappointing time. And I will say the rose is absolutely beautiful. Her colors are wonderfully blended.

I hope the insects stay under control. I will cross my paws that all will be well.
