Sunday 1 july was my 9th birthday, my granny doesn’t know exactly when I was born, after all I’m a foundling, but she gave me this date because her Dog, who’s in heaven now, was born on this day, so it’s a remembering day as well and instead of a big party, we had a terrible day, that turned out to remember something more on this special day.
Big Binky and grandma were drinking a cup of coffee and after that, he wanted to go outside to stretch some muscles…
and that’s the last thing we saw of him 😦
Not long after he left there was a thunderstorm going around and granny was calling for him, but he didn’t came. We were all very worried, especially when he also didn’t came home for dinner.
Granny and grandpa were searching for some time in the late evening, but they couldn’t find him.
The next day I helped them searching: I looked in Herman’s house…
I followed Big Binky’s trails…
and smelled his odour..
followed his trace..
I went out of the garden…
.. but also didn’t find him… In the meantime granny wasn’t the only one who was worried and scared, because she was playing the most terrible scenario’s of what could have happen in her head…
She was just busy to fill in a form for missing animals, when grandpa came home and told us that we don’t have to worry anymore, because the neighbours, Binky’s official owners, took Big Binky with them into their new house, an apartment building, without telling me and my grandparents. They also didn’t give granny the opportunity to say goodbye to Big Binky properly. Can you imagine how that feels?
We knew they were busy to move, but we never believed that they would take Big Binky with them, after neglecting him for such a long time.
After almost 3,5 years, after his wandering adventure, they finally remembered they also have another cat named Binky and stolen took him away, just like that, without having the guts to letting us know what they’re up to.
Big Binky thought he was home with us, he never got to their house anymore after he settled himself with my granny. I admit that I was very jalous of him, because it’s MY granny and I had to share her with him, but now I see the grieve in her face, it’s affecting me also. To be honest, in my heart I already got used to him and I miss him already, but this I can only say afterwoods. I had no idea of this feeling before 😦
My grandparents took care of him for all these years, nurtured him when he was ill, feeding him, giving him medicines when it was necessary, defleading him and took daily all the ticks of him, and the most important thing in live, they gave him loves. In fact they gave him everything he needs and that people just snatched him away from our lives…
…but what can we do, after all it was their cat! We definitely learnt a big lesson out of this: to communicate is very important though you can’t get disappointed.
OK, we’ve communicated with Big Binky and he’d with us, but we forget to tell the neighbours that Big Binky didn’t want to come home anymore, so he’d better stay with us.
Granny is worried that Big Binky will miss his environment, his home and us. He can’t get anywhere now he’s living on a flat, from an outdoor cat into an indoor cat, that must be heavy, Big Binky, but we’ll hope and pray all the best for you.
Grandpa’s wondering if they’re operating in the interest of the cat or on selfish reasons, because Big Binky is al real outdoor cat.. the real hunter, you know.
I have to cheer up granny now… but before that I have to do just one more thing…
..this is for that selfish people, I’m really catlicious now!

I wish it were true, Rumpydog. Thank you!

OH, NO…not Big Binky!?! How dare they–your ex-neighbors are simply awful–pick up Big Binky and just leave!!??
Do you have any idea where they live so at least you could visit Big Binky?
Angelswhisper, I hope they live close by and maybe Big Binky can find his way back…without your ex-neighbors!
Sending you His love and peace…

They don’t live so far from here, Sunshine, but there’s a lot of traffic between our house and theirs. Only time will tell what’s going to happen. I hope to see him again, maybe when he sees my sister, she is living nearby, he gets into her car and comes home 🙂

That is such a sad story. At least Big Binky is safe and not lost, but I sure hope you get to see him again.
Jul 08, 2012 @ 22:24:08
I hope so too, Bongo, and if not, I hope he’s happy under the circumstances.
Jul 07, 2012 @ 04:42:12
Awwww this was not nice from the neighbors to act like that 😦
Sending you purrs and also to Big Binky.

Jul 08, 2012 @ 22:08:55
Thank you, Wazeau.
Jul 06, 2012 @ 22:51:42
oh, what a terrible thing to do to Binky. And your poor grandparents too.
So sorry to hear that
Jul 08, 2012 @ 22:07:20
I agree, Jazzcatjay, it isn’t fair, but we hope he’ll get used to the new situation and that he’ll be happy after all.
Jul 06, 2012 @ 22:19:46
Unbelievable! They must have known you were looking after the cat. How could they not realise how worried you would be. They probably thought you would stop them from taking him.
Jul 08, 2012 @ 22:00:19
I think so too, Susan. They have more cats and they were already moved to the new house for more than one week. This was a very sneaky act. Poor Binky 😦

Reblogged this on Cats & Co and commented:
After 3,5 year, Binky’s Official owners take him back, without any further notifications. And now he’s gone…
Jul 06, 2012 @ 00:35:14
I am so terribly sorry this happened to you!! And to Binky.
Jul 08, 2012 @ 21:42:13
Thank you, purrfectlee.
Jul 05, 2012 @ 21:55:35
Het heeft mij echt wat gedaan dit verhaal, t’is toch niet normaal dat mensen zich jaren niet om hun kat kommeren en dan dat beestje uit zijn vetrouwelijke omgeving weg halen. Moge hen hetzelfde overkomen!!!!!

Dank je voor je medeleven, Jane. De tijd zal het leren!
