I’m not afraid of Halloween

(Klik hier voor de Nederlandse versie)

Granny, what are you doing?

You’re decorating the house?

Why, Granny?

Because it’s Halloween? That sounds scary…

It’s not?

I don’t know, Granny, but it looks kind of scary to me… except for the treats in that basket…

Binky, it’s a kind of New Years Eve in the Keltic history. The day before All Saints Day. In fact it all has to do with the harvest… they were ready with reaping the harvest and finally could rest for one day, before they had to sow again.

The Keltic people believed that the day after, November the 1st, the beginning of their New Years’ Day, all the ghosts were rising to take possession of every living creature…

Binky… where are you??

I’m not frightenend, Granny… I only want to make sure, there’s nobody upstairs…

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYBODY 🙂

What about those herbal drops?

This morning Granny and I read the newspaper…well,

Granny was reading and I was looking pictures, sitting in the way and purring around, and it’s really cosy and comfortable.

It became even more cozier, when she was reading an article about a cat and almost laughed her head off

Sometimes I like a little fun, but Granny had to explain first what the story was about, before I had my laugh.

The concerning cat was brought in to the vet, because he was wobbling on his paws when he was walking around. In fact he had quite a disturbance of equilibrium. He fell of the couch, run into anything and had a hazy look in his eyes.

No, granny, I have not …

The vet controled the cat and wasn’t able to tell his mom where the disturbance of equilibrium was coming from. They took a bloodsample, controled his reflex actions, his breath was smelling awful… of alcohol! The cat was tipsy…

No, Granny, not me… that’s the sun shining in my face.

Granny, did his mom gave him alcohol, or does he likes whisky, just as Big Binky the boozer we still miss?

His mom gave him Bach’s Rescue Remedy,. It’s a natural remedy with flower essence mixed with alcohol. It’s a First Aid Remedy you can use against a lot of syndromes and the cat’s mom used it against stress and gave her cat this remedy also to get relaxed when he had trouble with his bladder.

Granny gives me always nature remedies, but I’ve never been drunk of it…. just look at this, perfect balance on one leg paw 😉

A lot of natural remedies are made on a base of alcohol, so that the product stays good for a long time. It isn’t harmful for people, but for animals you first have to evaporate the alcohol, before you give it to your pet.

First you have to boil some water (in a cooker) and pour it on a saucer or on a spoon and drip a few drops of the remedy into it and let it cool down and give it to your animal.

Granny has a very little bottle where she puts it in, she thinks that’s easier.

Of course you can buy the remedy based on water, they’re also for children, but they’re not so easy to find.

And this is Granny’s remarkable stunt… if she can’t put the remedy in my mouth, she lets the fluid run on my fur, so I can lick it of and she knows that I’ve taken my remedy, without getting drunk 🙂

Ok, Granny, that’s enough…

…I have to give myself now some pine tree essences… it’s good for my self esteem…laterrrr 😉

The Addictive Blog Award

Last week Granny and I were surprised again by our French Furry Friend Texas, a cat in New York who gave us this extraordinaire prix for Addictive blog cats. We’re very happy with this award and we thank you very much, Texas, for thinking of me and my Grandma. We love your blog and your funny stories and I always want to run over to play with you. If I made you curious blog-reader-friends, just run over to Texas‘ blog and see for yourself… I’ll follow later 🙂

Little Binky

I We started blogging on September 6 2011, -that’s almost a year ago Granny- because there’s a lot of traffic in our garden, like other cats, birds, hedgehog, frogs, snails, little twofeet and lots more.

Binka

Granny thought it was nice telling stories about me and my best friend Big Binky and about the traffic and me and about some of my strange habits. In the beginning Granny began to tell a story, with only one picture of me, but that didn’t satisfied me her, so I told her to tell the story with pictures, like a picturebook, and she listened to me and my blog was born 🙂

Troela

In the beginning we only wrote in Dutch, but when some foreigners also were stopping by to see me our blog, we decited to make it easier for them not for us 😦 and now we have a two language blog.

Granny writes about other stuff too, but that’s not interesting, because there are no cats or other animals in it. She also says that my blog is her dearest and funniest outlet. Well, folks, this was my story. I have to go napping again, because this costs me a lot of energy and I have to charge myself anew….

Good night ;)

I’ll nominate the following blogs:

Bongo

Longlifcatsanddogs

Cupcake

Cats & Co

Simply Charming

Myau Myau’s photo gallery

The American lobster

(Klik hier voor de Nederlandse vertaling)

Grandpa came home from work yesterday and he told us, that he saw  something strange on the street, so he had to turn around his car, because otherwise someone could drive his car right over that strange  thing on the street.

He parked his car on the side of the road and as he walked towards it, he couldn’t believe what he saw…

….

http://www.sportvisserijnederland.nl

…it was an running buffet American lobster…

..just for me to play with it… or maybe

for me us to eat..yummy, yummy…

Yes, we’re gonna eat lobster tonight…

Grandpa brought me us dinner…

Grandma ask grandpa what he did with the lobster and he told her that he saved the lobster…

You see, he took him home…

While I was preparing for dinner, grandpa told us how he saved the lobster. Listen to this, this could be very interesting…

He threw a red towel over the lobster…

and the lobster approached on Grandpa directly…

Well, that doesn’t surprise me at all…

and while the lobster was holding on to the towel,

Grandpa brought him to the ditch, so that he could  go on destroying everything of our living creatures in the rivers swimming.

That means, Grandpa has set him free…

and I we don’t have lobster on the menu 😦

He had brought me to his work, then I could have shown Grandpa how to catch a lobster!

….

You can see here what the lobsters damage in our rivers

NOS Nieuws…. I’m sorry, but it’s in Dutch, I couldn’t find an English version of it.
